Biography
David Whyte researches powerful elites and institutions. His research focuses on the relationship between the rule of law and state-corporate violence. His most recent work is concerned with the development of new forms of accountability for state-corporate violence.

His recent publications include: Regulatory Surrender: death, injury and the non-enforcement of law, (Institute of Employment Rights, 2010, co-authored with Steve Tombs); State, Crime, Power (Sage, 2009, co-edited with Roy Coleman, Joe Sim and Steve Tombs); Crimes of the Powerful: a reader (Open University Press, 2009)
He is currently working on a project funded by the British Academy that explores the extent to which human rights law can be applied to Corporate Human Rights Violations.
